Lonnie Edwards
Whether it’s church gatherings and concerts or coffee houses and street corners, Lonnie desires to see all people from all walks of life presented with the gospel of Jesus Christ. He trusted in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in 1996 while he was a student-athlete at the University of West Georgia. With a strong desire to see people impacted and transformed by the message of the cross, Lonnie immediately began evangelizing on the campus.
By the end of his senior basketball season at the University of West Georgia, Lonnie had offers to play professional basketball. However, being instructed by God to put the basketball down, he turned down opportunities to play professional basketball to pursue God's will for his life.
In 1998, Lonnie began recording gospel music. He co-founded Goodside, a Christian rap ministry based in the metro Atlanta area. As a member of Goodside, Lonnie released three studio albums and ministered at hundreds of engagements throughout the southeast U.S. He has also performed at several musical festivals with various Christian artists including MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Cross Movement, Natalie Grant, Newsboys, and Audio Adrenaline to name a few. In addition, he helped develop and establish Goodside Crusades (evangelistic concerts that led many people to Jesus). In 2018, Lonnie began releasing solo projects proclaiming the message of the Master to the masses. Lonnie and his wife Susan have 3 children and live in Conyers, GA.
